{"id":3793,"date":"2026-03-11T14:39:57","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T13:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alfredgera.com\/2020\/?p=3793"},"modified":"2026-03-11T15:11:04","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T14:11:04","slug":"quality-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alfredgera.com\/2020\/updates\/quality-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"Quality Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ref No: AGS040<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Company<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alfred Gera &amp; Sons Ltd. is one of the leading distributors in Malta&nbsp;specialising&nbsp;in the distribution of pharmaceuticals&nbsp;and personal care products.&nbsp;Committed towards&nbsp;excellence, we represent&nbsp;global and prestigious household names&nbsp;and offer&nbsp;specialised healthcare related services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We take great pride in our reputation as a company of integrity, fostering an environment where our team members can grow and build fulfilling careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Competency Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minimum qualification and education:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MCAST Advanced Diploma for Pharmacy Technician<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous experience working in the pharmaceutical industry is considered an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A good team player.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Well spoken in Maltese and English.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good writing skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Computer literacy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organized.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main objectives of the job<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Quality Officer shall be involved in coordination between the various departments to ensure that streamlined quality systems are in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main duties and responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Shall work diligently with good management and organizational skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall file all documents, records and correspondence in an orderly manner so that they are easily accessible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall keep up to date on all quality matters including local and EU Directives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall be required to attend local seminars and if necessary accept training overseas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall liaise closely with the Responsible Person(s) as well as maintain an excellent relation with the Medicines Authority.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall submit reports on quality matters as required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall have appropriate competence and experience as well as knowledge of and training in GDP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall assist in the preparation of job descriptions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall assist in the preparation of Standard Operating Procedures, OIs, Forms and other quality-controlled documents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall assist in the maintenance of the Quality Manual.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall assist in self-inspections and that the necessary corrective measures are put in place.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall collate data to be used in reports, investigations, KPIs and other quality indicting metrics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall assist in the implementation of change requests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall assist in the validation \/ mapping \/ calibration activities. This shall involve: writing of protocols and reports in relation to these activities; coordinating between the various groups involved (both internally and externally).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall be present (as required) to the Medicine Authority audits and any other external audits that are GDP-related.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall ensure Supplier GDP requirements are met.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall support in continuous improvement activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shall execute other duties as may be required, as far as training and experience allow.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform yearly checks to verify suppliers&#8217; warehouses used for delivery of AGSL goods.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform regular checks on end-customer licences (wholesalers and pharmacies).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Entering customer complaints into relevant spread sheet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apply with the form below or submit your application letter and a detailed CV to&nbsp;recruitment@alfredgera.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All applications will be&nbsp;acknowledged and treated in strictest confidence.
