We are seeking a Logistics Operator in our Operations Division.
Competency Requirements
Minimum qualification and education: Able to read and write in English and Maltese.
Numerical knowledge.
Basic computer skills.
Forklift driving (as applicable).
Awareness on health and safety regulations.
Knowledge of manual lifting procedures.
Handling of bags and boxes with hand-pallet truck.
Ability to drive the van of the company and could be required to drive a truck with a special license (up to a payload of 20 tons) (as applicable).
Good communication and customer driven.
Main objectives of the job
To provide warehouse and distribution services to Retail Outlets and internal/external customers.
Main duties and responsibilities
General:
To work and behave in an orderly manner and follow Good Distribution Practices.
Smoking is forbidden in all areas of the warehouse.
Eating and drinking is restricted to the area designated for such use.
To handle the goods following SOPs and GDP.
To fill forms as registered in AGSL Quality System.
To keep the goods segregated by category.
To keep all pallet sheets well visible.
To keep products which have been recalled, returned, rejected, expired or damaged in a designated and well labelled area in the stores which is physically separated from saleable stock.
To check and place returned goods.
To maintain stores in an orderly fashion.
To perform stock checks as required.
To check goods on receipt and before dispatch against the necessary documents.
To pick or check picked orders against the invoice.
To ensure secure packaging is used to prevent damage, breakage or spillage during distribution.
To keep the work area clean at all times.
To report to your superior or the Responsible Person of any deviations from SOPs.
To drive lifting equipment (as applicable).
To keep the highest quality considerations always in mind when distributing products to end-recipients.
To be aware of and abide strictly to all company policies at all time and in all company premises.
To actively participate in training sessions.
To follow safety procedures.
To assist other employees, in other departments, in fulfilling the common quality goals.
To perform all duties in a professional, careful and responsible manner.
To avoid damaging clients’ products and/or company’s premises and equipment.
To train other employees if and as required.
For Drivers:
To drive vehicles including delivery vans and trucks requiring special license group D (as applicable).
To accept and sign for local receipts/purchases from suppliers.
To ensure that when cash is collected, it is passed and verified by the Accounts Department.
To ensure that the clients are treated with tact and courtesy at all times.
To ensure that delivery vans access doors are kept locked at all times especially if the van is momentarily unattended.
To ensure that driver hands the controlled drugs to the pharmacist.
To point out to the client in case there are any cold storage products for immediate appropriate storage.
To immediately report their direct superior and/or Responsible Person for advice on the action to take should there be an unusual occurrence during delivery such as temperature deviation, malfunction of the temperature monitoring equipment, malfunction of the fridge on the delivery vehicle, malfunction of the air-conditioning of the delivery vehicle, accident involving the delivery vehicle, breakdown of delivery vehicle, spillage inside the van, theft, etc.
To be responsible for the vehicle that they are driving on each respective working day.
For Housekeepers:
To unload and load trailers and containers.
To check seals upon receipt of goods as applicable.
To check incoming goods for any visible damages and notify the Shipping Department and Business Managers accordingly.
To check for any shortages or discrepancies and these are reported accordingly.
To place and stack incoming goods after they are labelled appropriately.
To move stock from the Bulk Area to the Picking Store.
To ensure that quantities of products taken are amended on the pallet sheets/box.
