The Role

We are looking for a Medical Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of a wide range of medical equipment used in healthcare facilities.

The position requires a strong technical background and the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within an extended team. The Medical Equipment Technician will ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and safely, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards. This position involves troubleshooting complex issues, performing routine inspections, and providing technical support to healthcare staff.

The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, a thorough understanding of medical equipment, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel. Additionally, the Medical Equipment Technician will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and staying up-to-date with advancements in medical technology. This is a critical role that directly impacts patient care and safety, making it essential for the candidate to be highly reliable and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities 

  •  Install, maintain, and repair medical equipment.
  •  Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, calibration and testing of equipment.
  •  Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  •  Provide technical support to clients
  •  Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities , documenting and reporting any hazards or concerns
  •  Stay up-to-date with advancements in medical technology.
  •  Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and safely.
  •  Collaborate with other technicians and healthcare professionals.
  •  Order and maintain inventory of spare parts and tools.
  •  Respond to emergency repair requests promptly.
  •  Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements 

  •  Degree or certification in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
  •  Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical equipment maintenance and repair.
  •  Strong technical, organisational and troubleshooting skills.
  •  Knowledge of medical equipment and industry standards.
  •  Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  •  Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  •  Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  •  Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.
  •  Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  •  Willingness to work flexible hours and meet deadlines.
  •  Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  •  Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  •  Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
